Arthur Dale Crain was born in Rolla, Missouri on August 17,1937 to Ruth and Tony Crain. He was one of ten children with Jack Crain being his sole surviving brother. Dale is from Huntington Beach, California and he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Sammie Pauline Clift and their three children: Teri Crain-Pearce, Nina Rene Howell and Jon Crain. He was Pop-Pop to Hannah and Hunter Howell.In his youth, he could be found refereeing basketball games, singing in gospel quartets and watching St.Louis Cardinal games. Dale attended Ozark Bible College and went on to be a preacher, campus minister and a counselor. He enjoyed the Blackwood Brothers and Signature Sound, a gospel music group that sang many of his favorites. Dale loved reading and exchanging ideas with colleagues and he was an avid reader with a particular fondness for C.S.Lewis. In later years, he enjoyed gardening and spoiling their many dogs. A private celebration to honor Dale will be held on February 6,2022.
